About SavvyKin

We pay for every family-safety tool we review, record the test, and show you what actually happened.

SavvyKin helps US households choose and use the tools that keep a family safer online: services that remove your personal data from broker sites, identity-theft protection, family password managers, parental controls, and antivirus. Every week we also publish a short Scam of the Week: one scam that’s going around, how to spot it, and what to do if it reaches someone you love.

Who we write for

  • Parents of kids around 8 to 16 who want sensible screen-time and safety settings without spying on everything or starting a fight at dinner.
  • Adult children looking out for aging parents, the people who get the “I think I clicked something” phone call.
  • Privacy-minded household managers, the person in the family who ends up handling everyone’s passwords, accounts and subscriptions.

If that’s you, you don’t need scary headlines. You need a clear answer, a calm explanation, and an honest account of what a tool can and can’t do.

How we work

  1. We pay for the tools. We buy the plan we review with our own money. Vendors don’t get to send us a special “reviewer” account, and they don’t see our reviews before they’re published. If we cancel or get a refund after the test, the Test log says so.
  2. We record the test. Each review has a Test log box listing the product, the plan, the price we paid, the start date, the devices we used, our checkpoints, and what we couldn’t test.
  3. We show what actually happened. We use real screenshots from the accounts we test with (with personal details redacted). No page that recommends a product goes live without at least three original screenshots or a screen recording. When a result was disappointing, we say so.
  4. We’re upfront about our limits. Our team is based outside the United States. Every test is run by adults on our own devices; we never ask children to test anything. Some US-only features, like credit monitoring tied to a Social Security number or removal from US people-search sites for a US identity, can’t be fully tested from where we are. Reviews say exactly which parts we tested hands-on and which we researched from official documentation. Our How We Test page has a public list of these limits.
  5. We keep pages current. We re-check prices every month and log significant changes in our corrections log.

Who runs SavvyKin

SavvyKin is published by SAGO LLC, a small US company. Reviews are bylined “The SavvyKin team” rather than an individual name. We think the testing record should carry the weight: what we bought, when, on which devices, and what happened. Anyone can check that record, whoever wrote the sentences.

We use AI tools to help with research and first drafts. People do the testing, write the verdicts, and fact-check every page. Our Editorial Policy explains how.

How we make money

Some links on SavvyKin are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide which product we recommend or where it ranks, and brands can’t pay for placement. Our Affiliate Disclosure has the details.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t give legal, financial or medical advice. If you’re dealing with identity theft, fraud or a child-safety emergency, please contact the official channels listed in our Scam Alerts posts, or call 911 if someone is in danger.
  • We don’t use fear to sell. Most families don’t need every tool on this site. When a free option or a setting you already have is enough, we’ll tell you.
  • We don’t publish fake reviews, invented statistics or made-up testimonials.
